The Whistler Biathlon Society is hosting an introductory Laser Biathlon Try-it Day on August 27th.
The event will be held after the BC Summer Biathlon Championships at Whistler Olympic Park. Come and watch the races and then try some biathlon using our laser rifles!
This event is being offered as part of the ParticipACTION 150 Play List. We are offering 4 different activities from the play list, including walking, running, biking and cross country skiing!
This is a great opportunity for young athletes to watch some biathlon in action and then try it themselves to see if they like it. This introduction takes place before the start of fall/winter biathlon programs organized by local clubs.
The event will be held in the biathlon stadium between 2-4pm. We will have a short running and biking course set up as well as the laser rifles. Participants will receive an orientation to the rules of biathlon, how to use the laser rifles and have a chance to take some shots before doing some loops and shooting bouts.
Participants can try as little or as much as they like. At least 30 minutes is recommended in order to do the orientation and have time to do some loops and shooting bouts.
The BC Summer Biathlon Championships start at 10am so come on up and make a day of it!
This event is free, but you must register online here in order to participate: https://zone4.ca/register.asp?id=15573
Registration will be open until 20:00 on August 24.
