The Whistler Biathlon Society offers group biathlon lessons for all levels and abilities. From introductory sessions for brand new participants, to to privately coached sessions for experienced groups of athletes, the Whistler Biathlon Society can organize a group lesson tailored to your desires and expectations.

Our lessons use real .22 calibre rifles and are facilitated by certified biathlon coaches. The standard group lesson plan includes a rifle safety and biathlon range orientation, target shooting instruction, and fun biathlon games and races. Customized lessons can be arranged upon request.

No prior biathlon or shooting experience is required. For winter lessons some prior skiing experience (classic or skate) is required. For summer lessons participants can bike or run.

Our group biathlon lessons are for ages 9 and up.

Times, Dates and Booking

We offer two standard lessons:

2-hour lesson: a focused lesson that will cover the basics of biathlon and get you started in this great sport. Recommended for people who have little or no biathlon experience and want to give it a try under the guidance of an experienced coach. Usually offered from 10:00-12:00 or 13:00-15:00.

5-hour lesson: an in-depth and comprehensive lesson. Recommended for people who are interested in getting involved in biathlon and are looking for a jump start. Usually offered from 10:00-15:00.

In addition to our standard format lesson we can tailor an experience to the needs of your group whether it be a shorter lesson or a series of lessons, or whether you want to combine the lesson with running, biking or roller skiing.
